We are looking for an experienced branded content writer/freelancer on retainer, to support a busy branded content studio in the creation of written content across a range of channels and multimedia formats. In this role, you will report to the senior editor of branded content and work closely with clients and the client services team to help come up with interesting ideas for editorial angles in line with client objectives and deliver high quality written content.

Depending on the client’s objectives, these content assets may be stand-alone deliverables (branded content articles) or be part of a larger integrated program (which could include supporting with video scripting and event synopses). You will be a commercially-minded, editorially-focused creative thinker who can work within The Drum’s editorial style guidelines and tone of voice to produce engaging copy that will resonate with our audience of senior marketers.
What will you do?
Create and develop engaging written content that balances client objectives with The Drum’s ‘audience-first’ editorial approach – this will primarily be written content (features and summary articles) but may extend to supporting preparation of content materials for panels, webinars, videos)
Interview senior client stakeholders in the development of written content, where applicable
Research/ideas/topic generation to support the overarching content narrative when developing and delivering content – ensuring it is relevant to the channel and format it is being created for

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail
Commercially minded, creative thinker who can translate that well into the written word
Confidence in articulating content ideas to clients and internal stakeholders
Self-starter with a can-do attitude and proactive problem solver and collaborator
Sound knowledge of key trends and developments across the media and marketing industry
Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, managing to deadlines
