WSFL-TV, The E.W. Scripps station for Miami-Fort Lauderdale, seeks a dynamic Multimedia Journalist for a Lifestyle Show.

We’re looking for someone who has a demonstrated track record of creating exciting content and a knack for authentically connecting with everyone from business owners to people on the street.

Inside South Florida airs 5-days a week. You will be an MMJ and Co-Host for the show. You'll be responsible for producing compelling segments to engage the audience, no matter what platform, through creative storytelling.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Work together with the Inside South Florida team to create, gather, write, and execute stories related to the over-the-air program, station sponsored events and sales generated events, work with the sales department and clients on paid segments.

Co-Host the show Inside South Florida.

Work on station initiatives and perform various community service activities for WSFL, including performing as master of ceremonies for public service events and as host/hostess for station events.

Prepare feature stories for a local non-news television show.

Cover sports stories and events when assigned.

Source, shoot, write, track, and edit content.

Gather and verify factual information regarding stories through interview, observation, and research.

Shoot video and still photos to illustrate stories.

Edit, or assists in editing, videos for all multimedia platforms.

Appear on television program when conducting taped interview or narration.

Present information conversationally and engage with audience on camera as well as through other platforms (social media); clearly and concisely present information.

Work cooperatively with a photographer, when assigned.

Perform other duties as needed and assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience

Generally, 3+ years of professional broadcasting experience preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Ability to write feature packages

Experience and demonstrated competency in video editing

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work under deadline pressures

Ability to develop creative solutions to problems and come up with clever ideas about a given topic or situation

Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws

Flexible hours and travel are required

Valid driver's license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required
