Primary purpose: Responsible for taking a lead role in the execution of our commerce content strategy, while working closely with the editor-in-chief to ensure achievement of key performance indicators. Responsibilities include: making and overseeing assignments; managing independent contractors and junior editorial staff; and writing, editing, publishing and optimizing content. Track content performance and interpret the data in order to help inform future decisions while upholding our mission and commitment to journalistic principles at the same time.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Work closely with editor-in-chief to develop and refine commerce content strategy
Plan editorial coverage, including product reviews and commerce-focused lifestyle stories and roundups
Oversee product testing process
Write, edit and produce commerce content (and contribute to lifestyle content as time allows)
Optimize commerce and lifestyle content for affiliate earnings and perform other production work as needed
Assist in finding stories, doing research and tracking story ideas
Manage editorial resources to meet various content goals
Oversee assignments and ensure accurate sourcing and execution of content
Ensure production is efficient and timely
Assist in development of effective social media strategy for commerce content
Monitor and respond to analytics to help inform decisions and meet KPIs
Stay current on trends and best practices in commerce content and digital publishing
Perform other duties as needed and directed by manager
May manage independent contractors and junior editorial staff
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or equivalent experience required
A minimum of three years of experience in digital media and commerce content required
