What would you do in this role?

As a Video Content Editor, you will work closely with our marketing team and be responsible for conceptualizing and editing engaging video content for various platforms, with a primary focus on editing short-form video content for social media (TikTok and YouTube).

This role requires a combination of creative thinking, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team. The Video Editor’s primary responsibility is to craft engaging videos to complement high-performing site content, as well as any marketing materials for product launches and initiatives, and grow our YouTube, Reels, and TikTok presence. The Editor will aim to create visually exciting and shareable videos that resonate with the target audience.

Responsibilites & Duties

Efficiently edit video content using industry-standard software to produce polished and visually appealing final products sized for various formats including YouTube, TikTok, etc.
Collaborate with the social marketing and editorial teams to develop video concepts that complement the overall content strategy and brand launches, aiming for high-performing content for respective channels.
Create outlines and storyboards to visualize the sequence of shots and overall video flow.
Incorporate graphics, animations, and sound effects to enhance the overall quality of the videos.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, social media, and art, to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
Film and capture video footage, adhering to established guidelines and creative briefs.
Optimize videos for various platforms, considering different formats and specifications.
Monitor video performance metrics and use insights to improve future content.
Maintain and organize video content storage, organization, and publishing platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

Proven experience as a video content creator and editor, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work.
Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects).
Strong knowledge of what type of editing is most engaging for various platforms.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their video requirements.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to be on camera, as needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
BONUS:
Knowledge of SEO principles related to video content.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of relevant professional experience (not including internships).
Animation and motion graphics skills.
Experience with live streaming and video optimization for different platforms.
Proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, and Slack

Compensation

Range: $55,000-70,000/annually; Salary is commensurate with experience and location.

Location

Preference: Hybrid remote in Chicagoland area (two days in West Loop office)
