Managing Editor (Part-Time)

This may be your job. The Goshen News is a two-year old paper in the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. It has grown from a one town paper to 15 towns with 46 distribution sites and is still growing. Our goal is to inform our readers so they can make more informed decisions in their lives and in the voting booth. We report using the who, what, why, where, when and how and leave out the opinions. Just the facts and let the reader decide.

This is a great area for local reporting on politics, town events, and histories that go back to the Revolutionary War. Here's your chance to interview celebs and everyday heroes.

You will manage a tightknit group of lay and professional staff for a monthly publication. The work load is approximately 20 hours/week. This is a salaried position paying $30-$35,000/ year for the right, experienced candidate.

The Northwest Corner of Connecticut -- also known as Litchfield County or the Litchfield Hills -- is a region characterized by rural, picturesque towns, scenic roads, and rolling hills. The area offers a blend of small-town charm and outdoor activities. The Northwest Corner is about 2 1/2 hours from New York City.

Requirements:

You must live in or near the Northwest Corner of Connecticut to be able to report on events in the area. Must have a degree in journalism or related degree with an emphasis on writing, editing, research and staff management. Come join our team.
