The Greenville News is seeking a content editor to lead a team of reporters that covers one of the fastest growing and most desirable communities in the Southeast. Our team is expected to produce meaningful enterprise and watchdog content that identifies issues in our communities, reports on how they impact people and seeks solutions. We also are highly focused on covering growth and development and how it impacts the people who live here, as well as the city’s vibrant food industry and rapid growth. You will be part of the newsroom’s leadership team and lead a team of reporters who cover a diverse set of topics and need coaching and guidance to help them focus their ideas on the relevant and meaningful journalism this community needs and that helps grow our paying audience. The right candidate will have a laser focus on growing digital audience through engaging content and effective use of social media, SEO, and other tactics. This person will have a passion for different storytelling approaches, from Instagram stories to video, and will work to identify and launch new verticals tailored to specific audiences. This editor needs to be a mentor and coach who can help reports improve their newsgathering and writing and encourage the team to take on ever-more sophisticated work.
