Indiana Lawyer, Indiana’s leading print and online legal news publication, seeks an experienced multimedia journalist to become its next reporter. Are you a journalist with multimedia experience? Do you enjoy reading about court cases or digging into a case file? Did you toy with the idea of law school but decided on journalism? If so, this is the job for you. As an Indiana Lawyer reporter, you’ll be part of a fast-paced newsroom that focuses both on digital daily news coverage and longer-form print coverage. You’ll be an integral part of Indiana Lawyer Daily, our e-newsletter distributed every afternoon, as well as our biweekly print publication. We’re a news publication with a focus on the legal industry, so you’ll definitely write about the court system. But you’ll also have the chance to dig into other issues, such as legal education, government/politics, the opioid crisis, general breaking news, feature articles, even sports — and more. Sometimes stories will be assigned to you, and other times you’ll find them on your own. In addition to print/digital reporting, the Indiana Lawyer reporter will play an active role in the production of the Indiana Lawyer Podcast, developing story ideas, conducting interviews and collecting audio for our biweekly news podcast. You’ll also assist with posting stories to our website and e-newsletters as needed, and help out with social media on occasion. This reporter will juggle multiple deadlines, so we’re looking for someone who’s organized and a go-getter.
