The Infatuation is hiring a skilled editor to provide support to the editorial team's 12 largest markets. In this role, you will edit guides, reviews, and newsletters as needed in London, New York City, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Houston, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. This is an exciting opportunity to produce content at national scale. If you're right for this role, you are both passionate and knowledgeable about restaurants, bars, and a wide range of cuisines and destinations, as well as editing, grammar, and relatable, inclusive food writing.
We are looking for an editor with proven editing experience at a digital media publication. You should be excited to work in partnership with our writers, helping to hone their voices and find the perfect phrase, while also driving a high volume of content output. While you won't have direct reports, it's important that you are comfortable stepping in to lead and manage when necessary. It is important that you are committed to fostering writers' professional development and an inclusive working environment.

Job Responsibilities
Edit guides, reviews, and newsletters across our 12 city markets.
Research and fact-check the historical and cultural context of various cuisines, dishes, and neighborhoods.
Serve as substitute editor when dedicated Senior Editors are out of office, both short- and long-term.
Commit to expanding and diversifying our coverage, in terms of neighborhoods, cuisine, and price point.
Act as a liaison between writers and editorial leadership.
Collaborate with Audience Development and Analytics teams to influence growth.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
5+ years of editing experience. You're comfortable diving into a piece of writing and know how to give constructive feedback to writers.
Excellent copy-editing and fact-checking skills. You love grammar and would lose sleep over a missing comma or a misspelled menu item.
Demonstrated ability to project manage across different teams and time zones, and deliver on deadline.
You feel comfortable overseeing diverse teams and leading the editing process with writers.
Passion for restaurants, especially in your home city. You're the kind of person who plans trips around what you're going to eat, and you're the friend in the group who picks the restaurant.
A familiarity with the Infatuation voice and brand, and an understanding of the fact that we don't use words like "foodie" or "nestled" or "toothsome." You've read our reviews and guides, and hopefully you've used The Infatuation to find a great restaurant.
