Associate Editor

The Jewish Star is seeking an associate editor to assist with local news coverage, work with and edit freelance contributors, and edit and enhance material from the newspaper’s wire services. The Jewish Star serves diverse Modern Orthodox communities in Metropolitan New York (Long Island, Queens, Riverdale, Westchester, and Manhattan’s Upper West Side and Upper East Side). While our primary competitors emphasize one-dimensional and biased political coverage, The Jewish Star’s publishing team of veteran journalists is committed to high professional standards.

The Jewish Star is an independent newspaper produced by Richner Communications, a 100-employee family-owned company that publishes the Pulitzer Prize-winning Riverdale Press and dozens of community newspapers, websites and shopping guides on Long Island. It maintains its own printing operation and is a leader in digital marketing and in-person events. The full-time associate editor position (36K-46K) offers Jewish holidays, vacation, health insurance, 401k and more. A P/T hire may be considered.
