Reporter

We are looking for a full-time staff reporter to cover health-related issues, including in Salem during sessions of the Oregon Legislature. This person will be expected to develop good sourcing among policymakers and lobbyists, follow trends, produce in-depth stories and break news. The right candidate will have three years of experience in a newsroom, be aggressive in pursuing stories, persistent with nailing down facts and comfortable asking tough questions. The reporter will be expected to take photographs, file records requests, and data expertise is a plus. We try to keep the broader picture in focus, and we are committed to following the money that drives the health care industry in the U.S. The reporter will need to be able to regularly report in Salem during sessions but will have flexibility at other times.
