Freelance Writer (Travel)

The Manual seeks an innovative, experienced, engaged travel writer to help craft exceptional content!

You should be team-oriented with exceptional organizational skills. Must be able to work within our tech-centric platforms (Teams, Asana, WordPress), be willing to continually learn, adapt to a changing environment as unique needs arise, and step in where help is needed. Prior experience with WordPress is crucial. Must manage multiple projects/tasks in a structured environment without missing deadlines.

We're looking for a proficient fitness writer passionate about creating great evergreen content, educating readers, and enhancing article formatting. Providing our readers with the best experience is a must, as is the ability to vet content for clarity and comprehensiveness.

The ideal candidate is an experienced writer who wants to dive right in and create incredible content. Our framework makes the work simple so you can be effective.

Please be aware this role will focus on short-form and evergreen content in the travel section on The Manual. We are not looking for a globetrotting travel writer who wants to blog about it.

The ability to meet deadlines and use excellent judgment is crucial.

What You'll Do:

Collaborate with editorial staff on content strategy
Maintain a steady production flow for your content
Manage content production goals while maintaining first-class quality standards
Possess a keen eye for understanding the brand vision and content goals
Review content for completeness and quality
Route and monitor tasks throughout the content production pipeline (Asana and WordPress)
Other duties as assigned

You Have:

2+ years of experience as an author for online publications
Excellent writing and self-editing skills
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently
Strong attention to detail
Experience with WordPress
Asana and Excel experience a plus
Knowledge of AP style
Admirable organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate and provide feedback effectively
Superior time management skills
