The Miami Herald seeks an aggressive senior political correspondent to uncover compelling, insightful and newsy angles to the biggest political story of the next two years – the run-up to the 2024 presidential election and Florida’s role in it. This correspondent should have a proven track record of generating ahead-of-the-curve story ideas, cultivating the sources necessary to break exclusives in an extremely competitive landscape, and a flair for writing authoritative, relevant stories that draw readers who may not live and breathe politics the way this reporter does. The political correspondent should have the storytelling skills to make sure the stories don’t get lost in the weeds but rather capture the audience. This position is not for inside-the-Beltway writers.
