The Muse is looking for an experienced SEO Editor to manage, assign, edit, build, and publish SEO articles on TheMuse.com and Fairygodboss.com. This editor has a proven track record of publishing content in English that secures and maintains top positions in Google search results for high-volume, mostly U.S.-targeted keywords. You are also comfortable building a story from end to end in a content management system (CMS) while adhering to—and holding writers accountable to—the brands’ style guidelines. A passion for the career space is ideal.
What you’ll do:
Curate monthly editorial assignments based on a mix of updating top-performing pieces as well as identifying and targeting new SEO keywords
Build out a roster of SEO writers based on existing connections and an eye for editorial talent
Edit and optimize SEO articles to meet Google’s E-E-A-T criteria as well as The Muse’s style guidelines
Work closely with the team’s VP of Content and Brand and Director of Branded Content to ensure organic and sponsorship performance meets set KPIs and benchmarks
Who you are:
Established editor with 3-4 years of editing experience, particularly with SEO content
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to publish multiple stories a day that are free of typos, grammatical errors, and/or inaccuracies
Proactive, competitive personality with the confidence to make structural and formatting choices that result in a best-in-class reader experience as well as top positions in search results
Strong time-management and communication skills
Sharp eye for elevated visuals and aesthetic
