Senior Editor

The Nation is a lean operation long accustomed to punching above its weight. That means that every member of our team needs to be flexible, collegial, and to work closely with other staff editors as well as the art director. You should also be able to work with writers who already contribute regularly to The Nation. However, we are always seeking to broaden and diversify the magazine’s coverage and complement The Nation’s current roster of contributors, and editors who can bring new writers to the magazine will be at a considerable advantage. Candidates should have experience editing for both online and print formats. Familiarity with WordPress and InCopy is desirable. Multimedia experience, though not required, is a plus. Editorial staff at The Nation work a hybrid schedule with remote working on Mondays and Fridays and at least two days a week in our Manhattan office. Base salary: $89,166.
