New York Times Cooking is looking for a video journalist to bring engaging cooking videos to our on and off-platform audiences. The video producer will help spearhead an initiative to bring more videos onsite into the NYT Cooking product, while also creating engaging cooking content for our growing YouTube channel. They will be responsible for producing videos that range from short-form hands-and pans-style recipe videos to hosted cooking demonstrations, all of which will help strengthen our recipes and introduce new audiences to NYT Cooking. The video producer should be familiar with all aspects of production, have a background in digital video and a passion for creating engaging social food content. The right candidate will have excellent video production skills, be data driven, creative, and have strong instincts around videos that engage, share, and offer service in a crowded, fast-paced online video landscape. They will be responsible for setting up and coordinating recipe video shoots and work in collaboration with the cooking team to identify recipes, meet deadlines and publish video material on-site. Our ideal candidate is passionate about food and familiar with the digital video landscape. The role will also require flexibility in producing and publishing video material for off-platform and social stories.
