The New York Times is seeking an enterprising journalist to join our Asia team to help cover the region and its place in the world. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in breaking news, with the ability to cover a multitude of topics from a variety of nations, including politics and people, economics and business, culture and society. The coverage is constantly changing with the news environment, so we want someone eager to react quickly as necessary. Strong writing skills and a broad understanding of the region, particularly China, are a must. While news will be a central focus of the role, we are also looking for someone with the ability to write thoughtfully and deeply about important issues and events, as well as identify opportunities for enterprise.
