New Posted 4 July 2022 | New York, NY | The New York Times

The New York Times is looking for ambitious journalists who want to be leaders in the craft of editing to join our Editing Residency. This two-year program will provide an opportunity to develop and deepen your editing skills, and to work on Times journalism from desks across our newsroom. We are looking for candidates who are curious, collaborative and committed to excellence. Applicants should have at least three years of professional journalism experience. Professional editing experience is not necessary, but would be a benefit. Editors in the program will work on many types of journalism, including daily news articles and special projects. An ability to pivot is essential. Familiarity with social media and multimedia journalism is a plus. The editors will participate in speaker programs and rigorous training, and will receive regular feedback. Candidates should have excellent news judgment, a sharp eye for detail and an inquisitiveness about a broad array of topics. Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to frame pieces, work with reporters and write sparkling display copy.
