The New York Times is looking for a strong developer and visual specialist who will create interactive graphics for The Times’s ambitious election coverage, including public polling, election results and the election night live forecasting model known as “the needle.” This Graphics Editor will design and build charts, maps and other visualizations. They will work with fellow designers, developers and editors to create new visual approaches to election coverage on all platforms. This editor’s work will include the creation of live displays of election data, and will integrate a range of forms and disciplines like statistical visualizations, interactive cartography, data analysis and animation. This editor will also contribute to coverage beyond live results, which could include visualizations about redistricting, polling or other election data.
