The mission of The New York Times is to seek the truth and help people understand the world. That means independent journalism is at the heart of all we do as a company. It’s why we have a newsroom that’s 1,700 strong and sends journalists to report on the ground from nearly 160 countries. It’s why we focus deeply on how our readers will experience our journalism, from print to audio to a world-class digital and app destination. And it’s why our business strategy centers on making journalism so good that it’s worth paying for. We’re seeking a talented newsletter strategist and editor to join the Food and Cooking team. This person will edit the NYT Cooking/Food newsletters and partner closely with our Product team, as well as other teams in the New York Times newsroom, to ensure our newsletters are connecting with readers and serving their needs. We’ll also look to this editor to pioneer new ideas and formats for our newsletter work. The right candidate will have experience setting and executing newsletter strategy, with demonstrated wins; strong line editing skills and a knack for writing engaging copy and headlines/subject lines; a collaborative, can-do approach; and a love of food.
