T Brand is a fast-growing team of writers, strategists, producers, designers and developers creating branded content across all of The New York Times’s advertiser markets.

As a Post Producer/Editor, you will oversee multiple aspects of post-production for the video team, culminating in the delivery of final assets to their respective platforms. You will manage the daily operations of all assigned projects once they reach the edit stage, always in communication and furthering relationships with our post-partners. You will be the main knowledge holder of all our technical processes, ranging from editing ability to CMS usage, while also playing a strong creative role in shaping our video content. You will also edit internal video projects (T Brand sizzle, promotional reels, award submission videos, and more) throughout the year, inclusive of creating graphics and motion design.

You will report to the office in-person 3 or more days per week and can choose to work remotely the other days. You will report to the Associate Director, Video T Brand Studios.

Responsibilities:

Be an internal contact between T Brand and production partners on all aspects of post-production for assigned projects, communicating project information to all relevant teams (both external and internal).

Be a creative partner in shaping our videos. Role should be capable of forming paper edits, sharing thoughtful feedback that advances the narrative of our films, and parallel path any graphics or design work needed.

Help create post-production schedules, selects, rough cuts, fine cuts and final cuts.

Autonomously oversee video edits with partner production companies.

Comfortable working with a CMS (content management system) to upload and encode our videos to the New York Times site.

Build video pages and ensure video assets are working on the backend.

Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance for any video issues that might arise during the CMS upload and page build stage.

Oversee all packing of assets, including final film, raw footage and hard drives.

Demonstrate strategic thinking in a high pressure environment.

Basic Qualifications:

BFA, BA and MA TV, film, communications or journalism

Experience with complex, multi-faceted and multi-discipline projects including varying partners within an organization

4+ years of production experience in a post producer role.

3+ years of experience, proficient in both graphics and motion design.

Proficient in multiple Adobe platforms, including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Experience managing the creative process from concept to launch

Preferred Qualifications:

Desire to constantly contribute new ideas and solutions to problems

Experience in digital media workflows and technology

The annual base pay range for this role is between $90,000.00 and $105,000.00.
