Job Summary: Hello, clever copywriter. Hello, insightful storyteller. Let’s have some fun and get our work done. With the oversight of the Copy Director, you’ll craft clear, concise, engaging, and on-brand marketing campaigns and messages that drive subscriptions, retain readers, and promote various properties of The Philadelphia Inquirer. You’ll also support the Copy Director in big-idea branded content pitches and campaigns that promote our partners and drive revenue for our advertising department.

What You’ll Do:

Write compelling copy across multiple touchpoints (e.g., social, email, digital, print, OOH, pitches, scripts, etc.) for marketing, advertising, events, and other company departments

Write in a range of tones and voices throughout the day, depending on the audience

Work with the individual marketing teams to ensure messaging is delivering on goals

Produce stellar content that’s SEO-friendly and optimized for conversion

Collaborate with the designers of the INQStudio creative team

Juggle multiple deliverables under tight deadlines

Who We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred

2-4 years of experience in writing marketing and branded content campaigns

Exceptional editing and proofreading skills (i.e, someone who can eye a foot mark when it’s supposed to be an apostrophe)

Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage workload to strict deadlines, and operate effectively under remote management

Interviewing skills and branded content experience a plus

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Must provide a link to your portfolio with examples of relevant work
