Team Now’s mission is to ensure that the Inquirer owns the Philly story of the day. By definition, a job on this team will put you in the middle of the biggest stories of the moment, from major breaking news events, to bubbling controversies, to mega events, to emerging citywide obsession. But we’re also looking for reporters who won’t wait for the news to come to them. Team Now reporters will mine civil court dockets, identify emerging stories before they break, and cultivate mini-beats of their own. If you’re adept at quick and thorough reporting, or you know how to spot the real story amid the noise, or you can assemble a great yarn with dispatch, Team Now is a good fit for you. We’re looking for news omnivores who are tuned into what’s happening both nationally and in the Philadelphia region. We want applicants who know how to balance sharp news judgment with a broad and open-minded willingness to pursue new story forms and non-traditional stories. Above all, we’re looking for reporters who want to be in the middle of the conversation, ensuring that our coverage reflects what people are thinking and talking about right now.
