The Pulitzer Prize-winning Post and Courier is looking for a quick-response reporter to cover breaking news, crime and courts. The Post and Courier, the largest daily newspaper in South Carolina, has developed a reputation as one of the nation’s leading watchdog news organizations.
We cover breaking news a bit differently. We don’t chase every crime, crash or fire. Our goal is quality over quantity. A quick-response story should be colorful, contextual and deeply reported, with an eye toward the bigger enterprise angles that help readers understand the issues within our community.
The Post and Courier is a locally owned newspaper, investing in its newsroom and expanding statewide at a time when others are contracting.
The quick-response reporter would work out of the newspaper's Charleston office.
Send a cover letter, resume and clips to Managing Editor Jason Cato at jcato@postandcourier.com. The Post and Courier is committed to building a diverse newsroom that reflects the people it covers and the audience it serves. Candidates are encouraged to highlight new perspectives they can bring to our team.
We are an equal opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
