Rising Waters Lab Reporter
The Post and Courier is looking for a reporter to join our team at a critical time for the coast of South Carolina. In 2021, we were named a Pulitzer finalist for our coverage of climate change and flooding in Charleston. We are looking for a reporter to continue this work as we launch our Rising Waters Lab. This is a community funded position as Charleston faces a crisis point. This is a chance to make a difference that will echo for generations.
We aren’t a “feed the beast” newsroom or one that focuses on page views. We believe in contextualized, in-depth reporting and the power of a well-written story.
Our work on flooding examines history, including inequities. Our approach is innovative – saving project length stories to publish at critical breaking news moments when it means the most. And our thinking has been global, including stories reported from Senegal and Greenland.
