Education Reporter

The Quad-City Times and Moline Dispatch-Argus are seeking an experienced reporter to cover education. The Quad-Cities, a cluster of riverfront cities in Iowa and Illinois with a population of about 475,000, is home to several four-year universities and numerous public and private K-12 districts. This job would cover the beat cradle to the grave, with an emphasis on enterprise journalism. We’re looking for a reporter who can spot the trends, illuminate the issues and unpack complex issues. The beat offers variety – features, political coverage, budgets and breaking news, you’ll have an opportunity to stretch your talents. The best candidates will be proven producers, with previous newsroom experience covering a related beat, though candidates with strong clips from other beats will be considered.
