News Intern - The Sacramento Bee

The Sacramento is hiring newsroom interns for 2023. We offer a range of internships: Reporters (Local, Breaking, Utility, Investigative, Sports, Capitol Bureau), Visuals (photography and video), Video Producers, Opinion. Internships are generally for 10 weeks, depending on funding, and start times vary according to applicants’ school schedules. We work with interns to secure external funding to make them full-time employees of the newsroom. Participating in a college journalism program is preferred, but not required. We are looking for those who wish to pursue a career in journalism. The Sacramento Bee hires students every year in our internship programs, giving them an opportunity to work as staff members in our newsroom alongside professional journalists. While these are student positions with an opportunity to learn and continue preparation for a news career, we expect an understanding of basic news standards and ethics, and at least a rudimentary skill set in being able to produce content.
