Responsible for editing and publishing digital content across The Telegraph's Features and Lifestyle channels. Operating across a seven-day rota, you will ensure our priority content (both live and planned) is produced in the most effective way for a digital audience - so it attracts traffic, drives subscriptions and sparkles on site and on social media.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure copy is accurate, well presented and optimised for a digital audience.
Write sharp, digital-friendly headlines. Make use of the best pictures, video and other multimedia assets to keep readers engaged.
Help plan and execute longer-term series and special projects.
Work with our visual teams to commission graphics, illustrations and interactives that add value and help tell our stories.
Liaise closely with our Social Media and Community teams to plan and enhance our features and lifestyle content across social platforms.

Essential skills required for the role

Experience of writing and sub-editing stories on digital platforms.
Experience of working in news at regional, trade or national level, ideally within features or lifestyle.
Knowledge of how best to present content for digital and social platforms - what makes a good social headline, how to build value-adding embeds and structure articles to appeal to mobile readers.
Enthusiasm, imagination and digital ideas are all essential.
Quick, accurate subbing.
Able to respond well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
Understanding of social media and SEO.
Strong news sense and judgement.
