Job Description:
Manages social media planning and strategy; develops and publishes content across Mansuetoâ™s social channels.
Manages content on the Mansueto website, creating and updating copy and graphics for pages including homepage, events, news page, programs page.
Develops and disseminates Mansuetoâ™s monthly e-newsletter.
Develops a variety of reports on Mansueto Institute and programs, including 5-year report, annual stewardship report, and reports for various initiatives.
Develops promotional materials for Mansueto Institute programs and opportunities, including several fellowships and academic programs.
Collaborates with vendors, including UChicago Creative, Graphic Arts, printers, graphic designers, and videographers, on specialized website, design, and multimedia requests.Â
Prepares and disseminates emails and other marketing for events to Mansueto audiences, including an annual housing symposium, colloquium series, special events.
Drafts and disseminates media releases and does outreach and coordination with reporters for media interviews.
Writes content for various channels, including Mansueto website, Mansueto newsletter, social media, reports, press releases.
Manages digital, photo, and social media assets.
Edits Mansueto Instituteâ™s working paper series.
Tracks analytics for email and website.
Provides communications support to various initiatives of the Mansueto Institute, including the Kreisman Initiative for Housing Law and Policy and Environmental Frontiers.
Manages Giving Day communications, including landing page, email, and social media.
Manages communications research assistant.
Develops, plans, and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view.
Makes contributions to the media interface, including writing press releases, planning and organizing media coverage for major events, and crafting responses to sensitive or controversial issues.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in relevant journalism, communications, public relations, higher education, or related roles.
Background in writing and managing communications in a complex environment.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as social media and web tools.
