The Wall Street Journal is looking for a Deputy Photo Director to join the senior leadership team of our Photo department. This position will work with the Photo Director and three other deputies to oversee the work of our photo team. This role will lead a team of photo editors, assigning photography, performing research and producing visual stories across coverage areas ranging from news, business and features. These content areas require a bold digital display on mobile and desktop platforms, and a thoughtful approach to their print presentation. Strong candidates will have proven organizational and communication skills. The ability to balance short and long-term projects across several different sections is critical. As Deputy Photo Director, you will be responsible for maintaining a strong and dynamic quality of photography including photo-illustrations, and facilitating innovative visual approaches to the creation and distribution of our online content, across multiple platforms. Along with your team you will work closely with coverage chiefs, publishing and platform editors, graphics and art colleagues on daily and enterprise coverage.
