Global Energy Editor

New Posted 9 August 2022 | Houston, Texas | The Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a Global Energy Editor to lead our coverage of the energy business, an industry in upheaval due to factors from war and politics to climate change and shifting investor preferences. You will oversee a team of reporters covering companies throughout the energy chain, including the oil majors, shale producers, refiners, pipeline builders and gas stations as well as utilities, wind and solar energy generators, coal and nuclear companies. You will be expected to lead reporters to deliver strong and scoopy news coverage and agenda-setting enterprise. We expect you to take a broad view of the remit and contribute to topics ranging from individuals’ energy usage and bills, to policy decisions at every level of government as well as shifts in the economy and geopolitics that shape energy supply and demand. Based in Houston or London, you will play a critical role in our coverage of energy as part of our broader business, finance and economics coverage. You will work closely with colleagues focused on markets, climate, economics and politics.
