The Washington Post is seeking an investigative correspondent based in Europe or Asia as part of a growing team dedicated to delivering deeply reported, high-impact stories and projects that break news on subjects of major international importance. We will be looking for highly accomplished candidates with a strong record of delivering attention-getting investigative work. The strongest candidates will have broad reporting backgrounds from outside the United States that would include expertise in one or more subjects important to The Post’s international coverage, such as China, Russia, the climate, technology and human rights. The correspondent will operate as part of a new team headed by an international investigations editor that is part of a significant 2022 initiative. The team will add new capacity to help The Post deliver on its commitment to scrutinize power in all its forms, including internationally, with an emphasis on revelatory work that brings important new information to light.
