The Washington Post is looking for a product editor to support the platforms that power our journalism, including our content management systems and planning tools. The ideal candidate will be a natural problem solver, critical thinker and meticulous organizer who can effectively define and improve The Post’s workflows and systems for publishing and planning. The product editor is responsible for the health and growth of editor-facing and audience-facing applications. This person will partner closely with product managers and newsroom stakeholders to find ways to optimize our workflows and tools, identifying opportunities to improve functionality and speed; working alongside product managers to prioritize the development and implementation of new features and drive adoption; and maintaining support structures, such as documentation and education, associated with our content management systems and vendor applications. Daily duties include but are not limited to training journalists; reviewing tool usage analytics; conducting product surveys and reviews; creating operation manuals for newsroom tools; shaping ideas for building best in class tools; and facilitating competitive analysis.
