Investigative Reporter/Government

The Washington Times, the nations’ most respected leader providing hard-hitting journalism and razor-sharp commentary, is looking to add ambitious and energetic people to join our organization in the Editorial Department. The Washington Times is seeking an experienced Investigative Reporter with an excellent track record of digging into complex and important stories that make a difference. The successful candidate will have a proven record of exposing waste, fraud, abuse and corruption in government spending, political ethics, the political money trail, the culture of entitlement inside government, and efforts by major money sources to influence policy. The ideal candidate will be able to explain complex subject matter to a wide readership audience. Experience in using FOIA requests to extract documents and data from agencies and the ability to use computer databases, spreadsheets and web interactives that can analyze data for trends are required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years of reporting experience preferably on politics and/or on investigative teams. Some travel may be required. Non-standard hours are part of the job.
