Like its sister print publication, The Week’s website publishes a smart and eclectic range of briefings, digests, discussions and reviews which are distilled from a wide variety of sources. Our regular readers look to us for analysis, context and commentary, as well as an open-minded digest of reporting from across the political spectrum.
What you’ll be doing
The Week is looking for a Senior Editor to join our friendly team. Like our sister print publications, The Week’s website cherry-picks the best news articles, features and opinion pieces from media outlets across the globe and weaves them together into bite-sized digests and comprehensive briefings. A new range of web, app and online features are under development and will be a key responsibility for the new Senior Editor
Please also note that this is a part time role and the contracted hours are 18.75
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve
An interest in everything from politics and international affairs to lifestyle journalism and the arts
Knowledge and understanding of US current affairs is essential. Having worked for a US news publisher would be an advantage
Excellent writing, proofreading and organisation skills. You should be familiar with The Week’s approach to news
Capable of meeting tight deadlines and juggling multiple tasks
NCTJ or equivalent journalism degree preferred
Experience in writing digital content and using content management systems would be beneficial

The expected range for this role is £14,500 (Prorata) - £25,000 (Prorata)
