We are looking for a new reporter at Countryman, which is a WA-based agricultural newspaper and part of Seven West Media – the leading listed, national multi-platform media business in Australia. As an agriculture reporter at Countryman, you will join a small but mighty team of four producing a weekly publication with a big focus on quality journalism and industry-specific news.
We are looking for a well-read, organised, and independent thinker willing to immerse themselves in Australia’s $80 billion agriculture industry and to cover a range of rounds. In this job, you will take any issue and think: “how does this affect farmers?” and then pursue it.

You must be able to use a camera to take your own pictures, or be willing to learn. We are looking for a quick worker with a knack for creating easy-to-read content about important issues affecting Australia’s agriculture industry – including trade, markets, innovation, animal welfare, regulation, sustainability and more.
Some of the rounds we cover are: wool, grain, livestock, horticulture, politics, courts and education. You also need to be fairly adventurous as in this role, it is encouraged to do trips to regional WA.
