Copy Editor/Page Designer

The York Dispatch, an award-winning Pennsylvania newspaper, has an exciting opportunity for a copy editor and page designer to work locally or remotely on our copy desk in York, Pennsylvania.

The ideal candidate has the ability to quickly and accurately design dynamic covers on deadline along with solid knowledge of AP style and grammar. The candidate must also have above average attention to detail and the ability to write succinct headlines for news, features, sports and opinion pieces. The copy desk is also responsible for editing and packaging news content for our website and social media sites; working in a digital-first and highly competitive copy flow environment; and working in dynamic content-management systems. Digital experience is a must, knowledge of CUE pagination programs and Presto Suite CMS is an asset.

The York Dispatch is a fast-paced local news organization. We are a union newsroom and offer competitive salary and benefits packages. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field and at least 2 years of experience in print page design, social media promotion and digital content management.
