Breaking News Editor, Latin America

Reuters is looking for a seasoned editor to lead its Latin America Breaking News Hub in Mexico City. The multilingual Hub is dedicated to producing everything from real-time company news alerts and urgent economic indicators and central bank stories to a wider variety of breaking news ranging from natural disasters to market volatility or political turmoil. The Hub chief will coordinate a team of reporters and editors in Mexico, Brazil and Chile producing short spot stories in three languages and make quick decisions that will shape our crucial corporate, economics and political coverage region-wide. Speed is core to the operation. The editor will also manage a transition to an increasingly multimedia organization for the hub. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent people skills, impeccable corporate news judgment and a track record of helping promising staff to fulfill their potential. She or he will partner with the leadership team in Latin America to enhance the overall quality of the file.
