We are searching for a chief correspondent for oil and gas in Russia. The chief correspondent will lead Reuters’ coverage of oil and gas from Moscow just as Russia tries to pivot to China and Asia after 40 years of selling to European markets. This is one of the most demanding and exhilarating roles in Reuters: At a time of momentous change, you will write the first draft of Russian oil and gas history for the world, explaining the strategic big picture while ensuring Reuters provides the swiftest and most insightful coverage. We are looking for someone who can explain the personalities, the power and the money to a global audience. You will be at ease snapping the intricacies of gas production figures, breaking news on OPEC+, Gazprom and Nord Stream or interviewing the CEOS who control Russia’s vast oil and gas reserves. We want someone who can ensure Reuters is first on the biggest breaking news while pumping a stream of exclusives and deeper stories. Ultimately, you will explain President Vladimir Putin’s energy policy to the world. You will be fluent in Russian and English, have superior writing skills on everything from snaps to deeper stories and manage the most talented team of energy reporters in Russia. Cooperation with Reuters broader energy team across the world is a major part of the job, including with the Russian Oil and Commodities News Service.
