Reuters is looking for a dynamic and experienced correspondent to cover commodities and energy in resource-rich Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy that is also the world's top producer of palm oil and a major global supplier of coal, tin, copper, nickel, rubber, coffee, oil and gas as well as a big global buyer of wheat. The right candidate must be able to break news and deliver insightful, agenda-setting stories on these commodities and energy markets, the frequently changing government policy, as well as the economic and environmental impact of resource extraction. The role will require explaining complex topics to readers around the world. The successful candidate will be a team player who will work with our financial team and is expected to help coverage in other industries such as aviation, batteries and automotive. As part of the Reuters Indonesia bureau, the successful candidate may also need to cover news stories on other subjects at times. High proficiency in Indonesian and English languages is required. Experience as a journalist in Indonesia, with a network of sources, is desired.
