Correspondent, Germany Economy & Finance – Reuters

New Posted 3 October 2022 | Berlin, Berlin, DE | Thomson Reuters

We are looking for a journalist with solid news judgment and a passion for storytelling to report on Europe’s biggest economy. This role will give you an opportunity to produce some of the most-read stories on the Reuters file, build a source base in Germany’s economy and finance ministries, cover G20, G7 or IMF summits, and explain Germany’s economy to Reuters’ diverse audience through real-world examples. If you have a flair for writing and a curiosity about how the economy works and how it affects people and companies, then this may be the right job for you. You would work as part of a team that covers economic data as well as the German coalition government’s financial and economic policy in German and English, just as rising inflation batters an economy already hurting from the global COVID-19 pandemic. This position would give you scope to look beyond the numbers at the overall health of Germany’s economy as well as at issues like inequality, demographics and the impact of a transition from fossil fuels to greener energy. You would also coordinate with a Europe-wide network of correspondents to develop and execute story ideas across formats including text, multimedia and graphics.
