Reuters is seeking a highly motivated journalist and team player to join the Delhi bureau as a breaking news specialist dedicated to speed and excellence, whether winning news alerts and writing swift updates or spotting a viral moment and crafting a quick sidebar story. The successful candidate will be part of the South Asia Breaking News Hub that monitors live online events, TV broadcasts and social media feeds, sends headlines, and builds coverage in the crucial first minutes of a breaking news story, including via close coordination with the visuals team. South Asia is a very diverse multimedia story so the successful applicant must be comfortable covering a variety of topics at speed for all our major client groups – everything from speeches by political leaders or central bank officials to corporate mergers and natural disasters. The correspondent will work under the direction of the South Asia Breaking News Editor.
