Reuters Pictures is looking for a dynamic and talented Visuals Journalist to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa to report from one of Africa’s most important countries. We are looking for a team player and a self-starter with plenty of initiative to generate story ideas and inject a creative approach to storytelling. She or He will have a good understanding of the news agenda in the southern Africa region in its widest sense – from politics and religion to sport and entertainment, to culture and new business. The pictures and video news industry is going through a period of significant change, driven by the rapidly changing habits of news consumers and ever-changing technology. The successful candidate should have a strong photographic portfolio and extensive experience in news photography. They should also have basic video and editing skills, as well as a desire and capacity to learn more.  We want a journalist with excellent communication skills, an unflappable temperament, and a passion for newsgathering and visual storytelling. They must be able to work closely in a team with visuals colleagues and reporters.
