We're looking for a Staff Writer to go hands on with the hottest new OLED and QLED TVs from the biggest brands, including LG, Samsung, TCL and more.
What you'll be doing…
As Staff Writer, AV & TV at Tom's Guide, you’ll be responsible for producing coverage for the TV hardware channel of Tom’s Guide. You'll work with the US Managing Editor to bring a vision for the channel to the team, creating a range of content that helps people to understand what the best products on the market are right now, what’s coming down the line in the future, and how to get more from what they already have. You'll figure out what the right content mix is as part of a site that serves many different types of reader.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include writing news, features and reviews for the channel as well as the ideation of those articles. There is an emphasis in this position on obtaining and writing reviews that will help further enhance Tom’s Guide’s reputation in the industry and will therefore require you to cultivate relationships with major TV manufacturers. In addition to writing content, you'll use social media to amplify this content to a wider audience and employ best practices to find the right readers via search, taking ownership of traffic results.
Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…
A good working knowledge of TV and AV technology.
Strong writing skills and a history of writing articles in a timely manner for an online publication.
A proven ability to work in a fast-paced, online environment and an understanding of the needs it brings.
Ability to travel to key industry events if / when required with prior notice from editorial lead.
Good understanding of SEO and analytics.

Please note, the salary range for this position is $56,000 - $60,000.
This is a position covered under a collective bargaining agreement between Future US, Inc. and the Writers Guild of America East.
