The Ravalli Republic, a Lee Montana newspaper in Montana’s scenic Bitterroot Valley, is looking for a journalism aficionado to “traffic” print pages three days per week or produce the news pages twice weekly and cover sports on the third day.
Our new hire will work with a Republic editor and part-time reporter as well collaborate with a statewide team of reporters at Lee Enterprises properties in Missoula, Helena, Butte and Missoula.
The primary role of the page trafficker is to work with Lee’s design center in the Midwest to produce two of the Republic’s four sections in print editions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Deadlines are in the early afternoon, so the shifts will be during the days on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Though we’d prefer someone based in the Bitterroot Valley or Missoula, we’ll consider a top-notch candidate living anywhere in the U.S for three trafficking shifts. Pay is $20/hr for roughly 25 hours per week.
Our ideal candidate would traffic the sections twice a week and spend the remaining hours covering sports in a valley known for its high school powerhouses in Hamilton, Florence, Corvallis and several other communities. This would require living in the Bitterroot or no farther than the Missoula area.
The Republic, based in Hamilton in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley, is an equal opportunity employer. Visit our websites at ravallirepublic.com and www.406mtsports.com to see our work.
