A copywriter at Transmission needs to be:

A great communicator, both verbally and in writing
Skilled at distilling complex ideas, messaging, and technical solutions into something people want to read or watch
Adaptable across a variety of technical topics—data, logistics, adhesives—sometimes all in the same day
Intuitive, with a good eye for a story and the initiative to deliver outstanding work for our clients

Job responsibilities:

Copywriting: Your day will mostly be filled with receiving copy briefs, interrogating those briefs with the strategist, and delivering great work
Briefs: including long-form copy (think guides, eBooks or whitepapers), video scripts, infographics, articles (desk researched or interview-led), web copy, ad copy, social media copy, and more
Proofreading: Supporting the team by checking work with a fine-tooth comb, looking for errors and/or better articulation of ideas
Research: While our copy briefs are often full of context and resources to help you write, you need to be able to deep dive into topics and look for unique angles yourself. This also includes deep diving on our clients, quickly understanding what they do, their key messages and topics, and products and services
Messaging: Our copywriters often support the strategy team by writing value propositions and messaging. We’re ideally looking for a candidate with experience and understanding of messaging frameworks and the role they play in delivering copy and content
Interviewing: You need to be comfortable preparing for and conducting interviews with subject matter experts when the content demands it. That means researching the interviewee, developing relevant questions (based on the content we’re developing), and leading the interview to get the right insight from them
Content ideation: We work collaboratively among the content team to develop creative content ideas – both creative and functional
Presentation: Ability to talk through and justify copy decisions with clients
Design: While we have an internal creative department to design assets, copywriters need an understanding of, and eye for, creative output
Keep up to date with the latest innovations in content creation and design
Manage freelance copywriters
Manage the process of copywriting from brief, through to feedback, final editing and publishing on each chosen channel.
