The Senior Editor, Commerce is responsible for creating buying guides and managing a team of freelance writers.. Topics in this segment include everything around the home, from decor, to the bathroom, to the garage and even the lawn and garden. The Senior Editor is our resident subject matter expert on Home topics, helping to elevate our content to the next level.

This position collaborates with the VP of Content, an enthusiastic team of editors, product managers, and SEO analysts.

The 360 Reviews team operates as a startup within the larger U.S. News organization, giving it a fast-moving, innovative culture, matched with the stability of an established and respected media company. Using unbiased, data-driven ratings, 360 Reviews covers consumer products and services as well as a range of business products.

Though 360 Reviews is based in our Washington, D.C. office, this position is open to remote workers.

Our ideal candidate is dedicated, detail-oriented, curious, efficient, and a team player. As part of the job, you will:

Manage a team of freelancers and subject matter experts
Provide day-to-day team support to ensure deadlines and goals are met.
Collaborate with editors, SEO analysts, product managers, and others over video conferences, emails, and instant messages.
Ensure content and procedures meet our standards of top-quality, error-free work.
Review product pages before publication.
Perform competitive research, SEO research, and gap analyses to help shape content.
Stay abreast of new trends, best practices, and Google algorithm updates as it relates to Commerce topics.
Assist with hiring, training, and ongoing coaching.
Occasionally write and edit content, using SEO best practices.

You should definitely have:

Minimum of 5 years of professional editing experience for a digital publication, magazine, or similar entity, specifically creating affiliate content..
Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and stay flexible while consistently helping the team meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Searchmetrics, Google Suite, Google Analytics, and Airtable.
Journalism or related degree or equivalent experience.
Ability to quickly learn multiple, complex subjects concurrently.
Utmost attention to detail.
Knowledge of SEO best practices with experience writing and editing for SEO.
Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills.
Burning desire to help editors create high-quality, effective content.
