Indigenous communities have historically been underrepresented and misrepresented in media coverage. This Indigenous affairs beat is a reporting position focused dedicated to highlighting the important but underreported issues facing these communities in the Pacific Northwest. The coverage will focus on federal, state and local policies, with an emphasis on in-depth enterprise reporting and feature writing that explores the intersection of culture and government relations.
Salary and Benefits:
$57,000-$60,000
Medical insurance is provided at no cost to employees, with 70% of dependent care costs covered. In addition, dental, vision, and life insurance are available at a low cost to employees and their families. A retirement savings plan includes a 3% employer match. Employees receive 20 days of paid time off annually. Paid leave options are also offered, and remote work and flexible scheduling are available to support work-life balance.
This position will be:

At least $500 but potentially more depending on geography.
