Transportation Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Communications Specialist to write, edit and design digital and print communications and marketing materials. Topics range from major transportation initiatives and process changes on campus, promotion of transportation programs and products, campus-wide transportation & sustainability performance, and transportation events/impacts that affect the entire campus community and visitors. This employee also helps develop and execute communication and outreach strategy, plan campus-wide events, and develop communication/presentations to support relationships with external partners and stakeholders. Reporting to the Commute Options Manager, the Communications Specialist plays a creative and leadership role in promoting to and educating the campus-wide community and visitors, as well as internal and external stakeholders, on Transportation Services programs, products, services and news. Works closely with the UW Facilities Communications team and interacts directly with external agencies and organizations regarding transportation to/from and on the University campus. This position requires project management and polished writing skills, graphic design experience, and the ability to communicate with people of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.
