Vanguard has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Writer who will be responsible for creating and implementing an executive communication strategy that advances our IT subdivision’s objectives and priorities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about storytelling and an expert at creating stories, presentations, and events that inform, engage, and inspire their audience. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that produces complex or high profile written communication in compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards for IT senior leaders and employees across various Enterprise Advice departments.
In this role, you will:
Develop executive communications, communications strategies, plans, and tactics in support of key initiatives to generate awareness, increase understanding, and drive crew engagement with organization vision. Translate business strategies and initiatives into messaging and content. Prioritize communications and messages to increase impact on target audiences and business outcomes. Develop communication plans that think long-term, aligning organizational communication moments together into broader strategies for a cohesive narrative.
Create effective and compelling communications content based on deep understanding of target audience and the broader operating environment. Coordinate and manage execution of internal communications and events, which may include EA Scrum meetings, SharePoint news articles, newsletters, and leader memos.
Drive the execution of all phases of the communications process, including conception, implementation, and measurement. Lead day-to-day communication activities.
Improve end-to-end communication processes by applying current and evolving industry standards, while aligning with Vanguard brand. Proactively source news and stories for broader application.
Create communication templates and resources to support change management efforts.
Develop and maintain strong internal client relationships with functional subject matter experts from across the organization to gather information and provide expert internal communications support for key initiatives.
Experiment with new, creative ways to reach crew with the news and information they care about.
Routinely measure and report out to stakeholders regarding the impact of internal communications.
What it takes:
Minimum five years related work experience; three years Communications experience preferred.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
Advanced in Word, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong project management and communication skills (written and presentation).
Ability to independently handle a large workload of varied communication projects on tight deadlines, meeting the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and sensitivity.
Comfort navigating ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
Creative thinker who can synthesize multiple sources of information and develop content that educates, informs, and inspires a variety of audiences.
Innovative, curious, self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate needs and solve issues effectively.
Able to work with all levels of crew and contractors, including senior leaders.
