WAER FM88.3 Syracuse Public Media seeks a dynamic newsroom leader who can help move our dual missions forward: serving the public, while providing professional development opportunities for student/volunteers.
WAER’s next News & Public Affairs Director will continue the department’s evolution into an innovative broadcast and digital entity. You’ll oversee all aspects of broadcast and digital storytelling and oversee a professional news staff of 4-5. You’ll have the opportunity to impact the community through local news coverage, innovate with new media, find new audiences through multiple platforms, and engage our community through special program initiatives. Working with the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University, you will also be teaching and guiding the journalists, broadcasters, and content providers of the future.
